If you ask Traci Kanaan what she does for a living, she’ll tell you she’s an irrepressible creative and Renaissance broad. It’s shorter than having to explain she’s a Certified Hypnotist & Hypnotherapist, a double entrepreneur with a hypnosis business and property management company, a former 18 year internationally touring musical comedian, and the author of a mediocre selling book. She brings real world experience to her diverse hypnosis clientele, integrating her hypnotherapy training with 24 years as a business owner/entrepreneur, 18 years as a stand up comedian, and 50+ years of creative problem solving.
As a Hypnotist, she freely incorporates any number of 50+ hypnosis and healing modalities in her sessions. Thanks to her comedy and improv training, she can easily switch gears on the fly to cater to her client’s needs, frequently personalizing sessions according to their interests. That comedy training also comes in handy when a client needs to “break a bad trance.” There is no better “pattern interrupt” than laughter! Traci now teaches other hypnotists how to bring the gift of laughter to their sessions through her signature technique, The Hilarity and Hypnosis Approach.
As a comedian, Traci found a niche entertaining swingers, nudists, and those in the BDSM (bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism) lifestyles. These connections led her to becoming a leader in the field of Erotic Hypnotherapy for “Sexually Adventurous Adults.” Traci frequently works with people wanting to achieve specific sexual goals or alleviate symptoms of kinks or fetishes gone wild.
Traci brings “hilarity and hypnosis” into every aspect of her life. Her property management company buys and fixes up condos, then puts them on AirBNB. All but one of those condos is in the nudist resort where she lives. Each of the condos has a fun theme, like “Go Ask Alice,” “Boogie Nights,” and “CU@R2D2’s” Star Wars themed condo. She and her boyfriend Doug also run monthly golf cart parades for the resort, as well as throw holiday potlucks for all of the residents. Traci and Doug are therapy humans for Thelma and Louise (Siamese furballs of indifference) and Macauley (the glo betta that actually greets them when they get home, unlike the furballs).
