My Ugly Triggers Became Beautiful Invitations: The Secret to Surrendering with YUMMY Podcast

In this episode, I had the opportunity to share an intimate conversation with Crystal Khalil & Dr. Nicole LaBeach on the YUMMY Podcast - and let me tell you, we peel back layers upon layers of our personal stories, delving deep into themes of childhood, trauma, and the beautiful journey of self-growth.

Join me as I share my own path of self-discovery and healing with Crystal & Dr. Nicole. This conversation isn't just surface-level chit-chat; we'll go straight to the heart of what it means to be human. You'll see the power of feeling your emotions and embracing your true self shining through as we navigate this emotional terrain together.

We'll also explore how the lessons I've learned in one area of life can be beautifully transferred to another, emphasizing the need for evolution and adaptation as circumstances change. This episode challenges the notion of being "stuck" and encourages you to take action and evolve. Are you truly stuck, or are you just resisting the winds of change? Join me and my guest on this soul-stirring exploration of personal growth and transformation.

KEY POINTS

  • Seeking validation from others can be counterproductive for you
  • Recognizing the ever-presence of God and understanding your own journey
  • Revisiting your past experiences and traumas is also a way for healing
  • Always appreciate the present moments with your children
  • You can't be everything to someone
  • Negative emotions from childhood can deeply impact your life
  • Ugly triggers are invitations for change and transformation

QUOTABLES

"When the people don't realize what I didn't realize is healed is not healed with an -ED. If you looking for an outcome on your journey, you've done it all wrong. It's simply about surrender. Over and over and over again." - Jessica Hurley

"This is what I heard God say, clear as day, "Don't you go looking for another single stranger to help until you use these resources to help your son." - Jessica Hurley

"One of the things that is so YUMMY is when you figure out the thing that you've been fearing forever is blessing you." -Dr. Nicole Labeach

"Part of my work is to realize that even though I did the best I could. It may have not been enough and there's still work that has to be done." - Crystal Khalil

I found her through the GirlCEO podcast w/ Ronne Brown and immediately subscribed. Her format, topics, and episode length make it perfect for the boost you need through out the day. I connect with her because she speaks to the producers of the world full of artists. Every piece of art needs a producer, curator, or facilitator to get a message out. There are stories we carry that just need an outlet. She does that in her business and through her podcast. So glad I found this because it gives me the motivation to go after the life I want to live. A life of purpose and meaning.

First I want to start by saying thank you Jessica for speaking in a way that is so relatable, you put words to thoughts and feelings like no one I’ve ever heard speak. It truly is your gift! There are soooo many gems in every single one of your podcasts (yes I’m almost positive I’ve listened to them alllll). You don’t hold back and that’s what I absolutely loveeee about the podcasts. I think everyone needs a YOU in their life, super thankful for everything your share on this platform 🙏🏼
