Before becoming Chief of Staff, Dr. Skryd served as Executive Director of Grants Development, leading the creation of a renewed department and expansion of nearly $70 million in grant funding to help advance student success, workforce innovation and community-based programming.

Prior to coming to SPC, Dr. Skryd was responsible for grant development at WorkNet Pinellas, raising millions of dollars to support Pinellas County workforce efforts.

Dr. Skryd graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies, studying abroad at the University of Paris. In 2022, she earned a doctoral degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida's MUMA College of Business.  

Outside of SPC, Dr. Skryd serves as Immediate Past Chair of Leadership Tampa Bay and past Chair of the Florida Council of Resource Development, a sub-council to the Florida College System Council of Presidents.
