In addition, this role focuses heavily on the development, implementation and assessment of the Titans Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs and initiatives. Prior to joining the Titans in May 2022, Johari served as Executive Director of the Northwest Family YMCA where she was committed to leading the center’s efforts to continue strengthening the Bordeaux North Nashville community through healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.
A graduate of Tennessee State University receiving her bachelor’s in psychology, she has spent 18+ years in the nonprofit sector with a committed devotion for community engagement, influential leadership, and capacity building. Serving as a change agent and advocate for diversity and inclusion, her work continues to have an emphasis on empowering and uplifting BIPOC communities, being a vocal advocate for informed civic engagement and the promotion of equitable public policy and private sector practices. With a background rooted in philanthropy, in her personal endeavors she serves on various boards and committees currently including Corner to Corner as the Board Chair, The Community Foundation’s Women’s Fund, and Nashville Teacher Residency. She is a member of Junior League of Nashville, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and devotes her volunteer time to Nashville Young Lives which is a local ministry for teen moms. In 2020, she was named by the Nashville Business Journal as one of Nashville’s top 40 Under 40 emerging leaders and in 2022 selected as an Athena award Young Professional nominee by Nashville CABLE. She has participated in leadership programs such as New Leaders Council and CEO Connect at Lipscomb University. A Nashville native, she and her husband, are proud parents to two amazing kids.
